Our Story

Surface Project was founded on the belief that walls should do more than divide space—they should add character, texture, and depth to interiors.

We specialize in mineral-based finishes that respond to light, age with integrity, and provide an alternative to the uniformity of conventional paint. Each project is approached as a collaboration between material, craftsperson, and space.

Based in Singapore, we work with both residential and commercial clients seeking finishes that carry visual weight and tactile presence—surfaces that feel intentional rather than incidental.

Material First

We work exclusively with mineral-based systems—lime paint, lime plaster, and microcement. No synthetic substitutes, no shortcuts.

Surface Evaluation

Every wall is assessed before quoting. We refuse projects where substrate conditions would compromise the finish or lead to unrealistic client expectations.

Sample Boards

For plaster and textured finishes, we require approved sample boards. Mineral finishes vary by hand—samples ensure alignment before application.

No DIY Guidance

These materials require skill and experience. We do not provide coaching, material-only sales, or post-application fixes for self-applied work.

Our Process

A clear workflow from initial contact to project completion.

1. Initial Contact

Reach out via WhatsApp or contact form. Share photos of the space and describe your vision. We'll assess suitability before scheduling.

2. Site Evaluation

We visit the site to assess substrate conditions, measure surfaces, and discuss material options. This is not a sales call—unsuitable projects are declined.

3. Sample Approval

For plaster and textured finishes, we prepare sample boards for your approval. Once approved, the sample becomes the reference standard.

4. Quotation

After evaluation, we provide a detailed quote covering materials, labor, substrate prep, and timeline. No surprises, no hidden costs.

5. Application

Work is scheduled with clear timelines. We manage substrate preparation, material application, and site cleanup. Expect 2-4 days for most residential rooms.

6. Final Walkthrough

We conduct a final walkthrough to review the finish, answer questions, and provide care instructions. Warranty coverage begins upon completion.

Our Warranty

Covered

  • Application defects (peeling, delamination)
  • Material failure under normal conditions
  • Adhesion issues from substrate prep
  • Coverage period: 12 months from completion

Not Covered

  • Natural patina and tonal shifts
  • Wear from scrubbing or abrasion
  • Water damage (leaks, flooding)
  • Structural movement or cracking

All finishes are hand-applied. Variation is inherent and intentional. Warranty does not cover aesthetic preference changes after completion.
